Ride the Divide

2001 - Trip to West Coast

Day Ten
Fred, Nancy and Dean left early for Seattle. Cathy and I left a little later and headed up the coast and then east to Portland. Stopped at the Harley dealer in Portland, they recommended the Washington side of the Columbia River. The river has some of the prettiest scenery we have seen.

Photo off balcony at Best Western motel, across the Siuslaw River to the town of Florence. We spent the evening dinning on the sea food buffet and in the hot tub, so got a late start. Cathy and I headed up the coast. Nancy, Fred and Dean headed for Seattle. Going to get back together again at Yellowstone.

Heceta Head Lighthouse Heceta Head Lighthouse, just north of Florence.
The Columbia River, Washington side looking to Oregon. Stopped to watch sail boarders, they thought a motorcycle trip from Colorado was cool and we thought they were crazy. They told us that was the best sail boarding in the country. People get killed hitting barges.
